Season 7 of DRUCK – Die Serie shifts its focus to Ismail, a transmasc non-binary character navigating identity, friendship, and the pressures of adolescence. This season peels back the layers of group dynamics, personal authenticity, and the courage to stand alone, offering a more introspective chapter in the German adaptation of SKAM.

In this story, gunshots are louder than love confessions, but nonetheless love still finds a way to grow. It’s dirty, sexual, harsh, and surprisingly sweet—all things that a modern BL lover never realised they wanted.

Plot
Ismail, known to friends as Isi, has long been part of a tight-knit friend group that gave them protection from the stares and whispers of high school life. But Season 7 begins to question what happens when the comfort of belonging starts to conflict with personal principles.

Isi’s world expands with the arrival of two new connections: Lou, a bold and independent newcomer who lives unapologetically, and Sascha, a childhood friend who represents the gentle, principled side of Isi that once was. These relationships push Isi to reconsider their place in the group, especially when past incidents resurface — like conflicts involving Fatou, Ava, and moral compromises Isi once ignored.
For the first time, the show confronts head-on the external prejudice Isi faces — from a younger brother embarrassed by peers’ taunts, to neighbors making complaints about their clothing, to Isi’s own fears about walking alone at night in heels. As the season unfolds, Isi begins to choose self-definition over group conformity, standing up to family, confronting bigotry directly, and reclaiming their own narrative.
Meanwhile, tensions rise between Cons, Lou, and Isi, hinting at deeper fractures within the group and forcing Isi to navigate between loyalty to old friends and a desire for a more authentic life. Romantic undercurrents emerge — fans speculate on a possible future with Sascha, while Lou’s bond with Isi feels more like mutual recognition than romance.

DRUCK Season 7 Review
Review

Story – 4/5
An introspective season that sacrifices some narrative momentum for character depth. Early pacing issues are redeemed by a strong closing arc.
Acting – 4.5/5
The actor playing Isi delivers both quiet vulnerability and sharp self-assertion. Supporting cast, especially Sascha and Lou, add emotional contrast.
Chemistry – 4/5
Connections feel layered rather than purely romantic, with a mix of tenderness, tension, and mutual respect.
Production – 4.5/5
Cinematography uses angles and framing to echo Isi’s internal state; the soundtrack’s lyrics often serve as emotional subtext.
Ending – 4/5
Not a grand finale, but a satisfying emotional resolution with hints at new paths for Isi beyond group identity.
💬 My Take
This season felt less tightly plotted in the early episodes, but the final two brought the story back on track. What stayed with me most were the moments of self-recognition — Isi standing up to their brother, calmly facing a hostile neighbor, and finally saying, “I don’t need to prove myself to you.”
From my perspective, Season 7 is less about love triangles and more about Ismail’s journey away from dependency on a group identity toward independence. Earlier seasons painted Isi as the “little angel” of the group, willing to apologize for others’ wrongdoings, but here we see cracks in that alignment. Lou’s entrance feels like the spark of self-awareness Isi needed — someone who thrives without caring about others’ judgment. Sascha, on the other hand, embodies the warmth and safety of Isi’s roots, making me hope the writers keep him close.
What makes Isi compelling is how real they are. Even in small details — stacking drink cans, laughing mid-kiss, or retreating from a crowd when discomfort hits — Isi feels like a fully human teenager, not a scripted archetype. The cinematography smartly frames them, and the soundtrack choices land perfectly with the emotional beats.
